My name is Morgan (she/they), and I’m a clinician based in Northeast LA. I am Black, fat, queer, and neurodivergent, with a big personality and a deep love for people. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important elements of growth and healing. My approach is person-centered, collaborative, and nontraditional, with a heavy dose of warmth and humor. Therapy with me is shaped less by theory alone and more by who you are and what you need.
I tend to understand life’s challenges through a postmodern lens, paying close attention to the systems and institutions that shape our lives in visible and invisible ways. My work is trauma-informed, with particular care for experiences related to oppression, marginalization, and transgenerational or familial struggles. I also believe in the importance of play, connection, and levity, especially within systems that can feel dehumanizing or overwhelming.
Before becoming a therapist, I had a background in film and video art, and I’m still a quintessential ADHD hobby-hopper. I love cartoons, video games, foreign films, quirky fashion, saying no, learning from my mistakes, and changing my mind. I live with two cats who will likely make an appearance during video sessions.
If you’re interested in working together, please feel free to reach out for a 15-minute no-cost phone consultation. I look forward to connecting with you!
I practice under the supervision of Kevin Niehaus, PsyD, LPCC – Beach Cities Mental Health.
